Well hello there!
We’re on day 4 of this jaw situation and, unfortunately, it’s not getting a whole lot better. So were sticking with photos on the blog this week as pain pills+writing is considered the next worst thing since pain pills+alcohol.
So let’s talk about Crete, shall we? If you’ve never heard of Crete, don’t worry. I hadn’t either. And it’s pronounced like “meat” – just take off the “m” and add a “cr.” Make sense?
To be honest, I’m not exactly sure how we landed on this little Greek island for our trip. It all started at Father’s Day 2016. My father is notorious for never telling you when he wants.. until the day of the holiday. And that year was no different. I think I bought him headphones – because, what dad doesn’t need an extra pair of headphones? Anyway, after he finished opening them he said, “you know what I really want for Father’s Day? To go on a trip with you next year to Egypt and *Greece.”
As the official travel agent for the Workman/Dawson family, I got started on planning our trip. If you’ve been reading the news, you know that Egypt isn’t exactly the safest place to visit these days so Greece seemed like the natural choice. Again – I’m not exactly sure how- but I landed on visiting Crete. So I booked the tickets and off we went in May 2017.
*Apparently, I’m not the greatest listener. One night, while we were out to dinner in Crete, my dad asked why I choose to travel to Greece. I gave him a sideways look and reminded him of his Father’s Day request. There was a long pause. And then, he gave me a sideways look because, on Father’s Day, he had asked to got to Egypt and VENICE! Whoops.
This was our very first trip with my parents and we definitely had some ups and downs. When I’m feeling better, I will be sharing my 5 tips for navigating family trips when you’re dating a guy who is the same age as your parents. I’ll need to figure out a catchier way to phrase that but I think you get the gist.
Anyways, until tomorrow

Uhhh I completely forgot we had these photos taken of our home in Cabo! Since a few of you asked for me to share, I figured, why not? This project was a fun one and I learned SO much. We worked with Ladco and they were unbelievable. More specifically, we...
Let's talk about our morning routine. Neither of us are early risers. I love staying up late, computer in my lap, answering emails, or researching our next trip (usually while watching the Real Housewives of FILL IN THE BLANK). So when the morning comes,...
