Committed Podcast: He's 25 Years Older - Natalie Workman & Brandon Dawson

Today was unbelievably exciting as Committed launched our very first podcast.

Brandon has recorded many podcasts and he is AMAZING at it. The guy knows how to communicate and never holds back. This is something I admire and find myself wanting to emulate. And I finally got my chance.

Remember when we went to the Bey+Jay concert in September? Well it all started then: when my college roommate and her husband told me about this podcast called Committed. Little did I know, she had already reached out to the producer on my behalf to ask if they’d be interested in our story.

As an aside: THIS is the definition of true friendship. Katelyn went out of her way on my behalf because she thought it would be a perfect fit. Fast forward 2 months and today’s the day when our episode of the Committed Podcast went live. I’m so incredibly grateful to Katelyn and Hunter for creating this opportunity and relentlessly showing their love and support. I’m beyond blessed to have both of them in my life.

Okay. Back to the podcast:

About the Committed Podcast

Committed shares the hilarious, heartbreaking and inspiring stories of couples of all kinds. The episodes feature couples from all walks of life who come together and stay together despite seemingly unconventional circumstances. My favorite episode so far is A Modern Southern Romance, chronicling the love story of Abbott Jones and Lauren aka Deidre Gunns. After meeting and falling in love online, Abbott found out that Lauren’s real name is Deirdre and she was Miss America. Deirdre was the first Miss America in history to marry a woman and their story is captivating. I highly recommend listening to it.  You will get ALL the feels.

Our Episode: He’s 25 Years Older

Our episode of the Committed Podcast chronicles how Brandon and I met when I was 12 and fell in love 10+ years later. It’s such an uncomfortable story and both of us struggle to tell it properly. But Jo nailed it.

On the podcast, we share how we met and fell in love. On top of that, we open up about our thoughts on having kids together, overcoming judgment, telling our families, my fears of him dying and everything in between. It’s raw. There are tears. There is laughter. And there is an overwhelming sense of appreciation for how far we’ve come. And how far we have yet to go.

We’ve navigated our age gap and chose to be together despite the inherent challenges that come with a 25 year age difference. If we can do it, so can you.

Go check it out: He’s 25 Years Older

We hope you enjoy

XOXO Natalie
