Uhhh I completely forgot we had these photos taken of our home in Cabo! Since a few of you asked for me to share, I figured, why not? This project was a fun one and I learned SO much. We worked with Ladco and they were unbelievable. More specifically, we worked with Melissa and she made the process seamless from start to finish. They have worked on many homes in Cabo and especially in the Palmilla/Villas Del Mar neighborhood so we had seen their work when we toured other properties. I had never worked with a designer before. I also didn’t exactly know what I wanted but knew I didn’t want to spend the time pouring over every last accessory and detail. We needed an expert, someone who could give hands on help and knew what they were doing. Ladco was a perfect fit. They took care of everything. And I mean everything. The sheets. The design concepts. The shot glasses. The pool games. All of it. We had a few meetings along they way and I was very clear that I didn’t want a traditional hacienda styled home. You find a lot of traditional Mexican homes in Cabo and this wasn’t the direction we wanted to take. It needed to feel modern (maybe contemporary? I get all the terms confused). My only blatant requests were 1) no color and 2) no gold. Taupes and greys were the jam. During our initial visit to their showroom in Houston, Brandon and I picked the furniture we loved and spent hours looking a fabrics. From there, we had established our mood board and Melissa fully grasped our style. She took care of the ordering, delivery, and assembly so when we arrive to our home in June 2017, we got to be fully surprised by the final product. Remember that show, Home Makeover? It kind of felt like that.
My Favorite Room
My favorite room in the house is our bedroom. Our headboard was custom designed and sometimes I just sit and stare at it in awe. I saw the space during the drywall phase and could never have imagined what the finished spaced looked like. My mind just doesn’t work like that and it reminds me how truly talented designers are. It perfectly fits the room and makes the whole space feel cozy and inviting. I love the metallic leather and the wood accents. So stinkin creative.
My Favorite Thing
My favorite thing in the house are the curtains and sheers in every room. It’s the little things, right? This is really the only thing I belabored over and they turned out exactly how I wanted. The sheers all have a touch of sparkle without drawing too much attention to them. On a day to day basis, we keep the sheers covering the pocketed doors and the slight shimmer makes me smile. Brandon always reminds me to open the sheers because he wants to see the view. *insert eye roll* He does make a good point thought – we paid more for the view than the sheers. From the picking of fabrics to the installation, Ladco was a rockstar and I would work with them over and over again. What I especially enjoyed was even after we were all moved in, I realized I didn’t like somethings. You live in a space, start to use it, and realize you need a change some things up. It’s actually funny looking at these photos because I see the changes we made and it looks even better today than it did then! But in the process of switching things out, they were above and beyond accommodating and truly helped us make this a home.
